New Mexico Liberty

Life, Liberty, Politics and Policy in the Land of Enchantment!

I am a member of the Constitution Party of New Mexico. Please visit my web site and email me direct. I was a follower of Ron Paul and then when Dr. Paul pulled out of the race for President I did not want to waste my vote, by voting Republican or Democrat, so I found the Constitution Party and Chuck Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was an excellent choice for President and with pride I cast my vote for Mr. Baldwin on election day. I did not waste my vote but rather preserved it for liberty. Please join me and other patriots in the Constitution Party as we work to rebuild America upon the principles laid out by our founding fathers.
Please check out my new web site at www.jerryscottnm.com it has links to the Constitution Party and other links as well.
Thanks
Jerry Scott

Welcome to the conversation, Jerry. FYI your link is not working.
Thanks Jim for the heart felt welcome and for bringing my attention to the problem with the link!
Jerry, asking as fellow Paul and Baldwin supporter, would you mind filling us in a little bit on your background personally? Thanks.
As a candidate for US Congress, in the great state of New Mexico, I have been asked about my background. I really wish I could write that I have some beautiful pedigree of intellect from some prestigious college or that I could pin my name to some specific act of notoriety such as writing a book or commanding a vast army or navy, but alas I am unable. So, when I write about myself, I am at a loss as what to say. I am just an average American, one who is probably more similar to Joe the plumber than many of you. I started young making a family and quickly enlisted in the US Navy at 18. In the Navy, I took the Electricians Mate School and graduated “Honor Man” of my class. After the Navy, I attended a union school as an electrician apprentice. Soon after becoming a union electrician, I also became a licensed NM electrical contractor designated (EE98) and worked in Los Alamos at the Los Alamos National Laboratory as an electrician. While employed in Los Alamos, I received a security clearance. A few years later, I started working for my father at Scotty’s Sales. Scotty’s was a mobile home, modular home and RV sales, located in Pojoaque, NM. I was considered a superintendent at Scotty’s Sales and I believe that meant I was responsible for anything that went wrong. While working there, I was a welder, carpenter, electrician, plumber, RV mechanic, truck mechanic, mobile and modular home installer and somehow found time to work in sales as well. It was also during this time that I acquired two more licenses to supplement the EE98 license. I became a NM general contractor (GB98) and a mobile home installer (MHD III). Scotty’s Sales did quite well for a number of years and then during the Regan years with very high interest rates and high unemployment the business started to falter. Home sells and RV sales fell off of a cliff. At this point, I purchased all of my dad’s trucks and equipment and started a business I named Ideal Sales. For about 3 years, Ideal Sales continued to perform all services for Scotty’s Sales plus performed services for private individuals. After 3 years, in 1989, I made a decision to return full time to electrical work. I sold all of my equipment and trucks to a business associate and returned to work in Los Alamos as an electrician. Once again I maintained a security clearance while working for Los Alamos National Laboratory. Early in the 90’s, I tested for and received national certification as an Electrical Inspector. In the late 90’s, I also became a licensed NM insurance agent. In About 2001, I sold my home of 28 years and moved to Albuquerque where I worked as an electrician until I became handicapped on May 29, 2006, after a non-fault vehicular accident. Since recovery was slow and quite painful, I started reading more about America. Today, I am amazed that this great country, our America, is in such a pitiful mess. I believe it is not the fault of average Americans but is instead the fault of our elite, the pedigreed, the so called educated. I am not saying that education is bad or not necessary nor am I saying that education caused the crisis in America. What I am saying is no college degree ever gave anyone common sense and it is obvious to me common sense has exited our universities as well as our public policies. With that said, I believe common sense is the most important asset any politician could ever have. Armed with common sense, the word of God and the ideals of liberty I believe I could make better decisions than many current politicians. I believe America needs people who love America more than their own bottom line and that is why I have stood up and called for your support. I believe a man must love God first, country second and understand the wisdom and the common sense of the Bible and the Declaration of Independence. I know that I value liberty above all financial gain and when it comes to the liberty of all Americans there is no compromise within my sole. We, as Americans, should never compromise our liberties for any price. Unfortunately, too many of our liberties are already compromised. As you can see, my qualifications for the office of US Congress could be considered inadequate when compared to others with pedigrees or elites with deep pockets. But from where I stand, my qualifications are higher than many of the current leaders. When a better candidate comes forward and is willing to stand in my place, I will gladly step down and support the common sense constitutionalist candidate. Until then, I will rely on God, our Declaration of Independence and Americas Constitution for my guidance. I do humbly ask for your support. I believe I personally have little to loose by trying and I believe America has much to gain by electing Jerry the electrician. I fully adhere to and believe in the National Platform of the Constitution Party.
Respectfully,
Jerry Scott
Thank you.
