By now Majority Leader Harry Reid's explanation for how he is getting his health-care bill through the Senate is clear: "I don't know if there is a senator that doesn't have something in this bill that was important to them," he said this week.
I will ask again, What did Tom and Jeff bring home for us?
From your previous posts I thought you were in favor of this bill. So they brought home what you wanted. Personally, I think they brought home just what Louis listed.
I am in favor of health care reform but not the version we ended up with. The true conservative question is, "Does anyone have a "right" to any other person's services?"
Udall says in a video posted on his site New Mexicans now have:
(1) Extended coverage to quality, affordable health care (97% of New Mexicans covered).
(2) New national non-profit insurance plan (not aware of this provision)
(3) Improved access to preventative care; increased number of doctors in under-served areas.
(4) Extended health care options for rural areas with initiatives such as "TeleHealth Services" which enable access to specialists without traveling great distances.
(5) Updated treaty obligation and the re-authorization of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act.
As long as the bill was going to pass I just wanted Tom & Jeff to bring home some pork since every other senator was doing it at the 11th Hour.
