The truth is, you would probably be a millionaire right now if it weren't for the government. Instead, all Americans are struggling under the ever-increasing burdens of taxes and government regulations. Our friends at the Independent Institute have put together a website that attempts to calculate for each person, based on detailed (but anonymous information) exactly how much government is costing you.
The site is interesting and informative. It can be found here.
The truth is the website http://www.mygovcost.org (privately funded) does not address the major cost of why we are struggling with lack of jobs and capital investment in the U.S. -- rewarding our multinational corporations with tax free and other perks for continuing to ship both jobs and capital abroad.

We certainly don't disagree about that. I do find it troubling that the area most egregious is not being addressed. Also all of the government's ability to outsource to the private sector as contracting. These vast expenditures have been rising exponentially. Imagine, the additional power given to elected officials. No wonder they are willing to spend millions of their own money to run for office.
No, I'm saying the federal government has too much power that is unrecognized in that its employees are counted (by you) but not the unfair competition it renders the authentic private sector. You want more freedom but allow your elected officials to bypass the free market.
Did you use the original site (in my first posting) it has nothing to do with government employees. I agree with you that government is far bigger than just its workforce.
