Senators Dodd and Corker have subjected some of the poorest among us to lifelong bondage. That statement isn't true because of the article pasted above (source citation?), but because of Dodd's and Corker's support for the 2008 bailouts, 2009 "stim…

Loaning money at excessive interest rates was traditionally considered immoral. Christians weren't allowed to do it and had to depend upon Jews who in turn could not charge their own fellows exorbitantly. Senators Dodd and Corker have subjected some…

This overview of the status of the climate change debate--and the great artwork on Al Gore--got my attention.  Highly recommended to anyone who wades into the controversy and needs a road map to the latest landscape. Written by Steven Hayward of the…

Jim, I can't remember if you were introduced as the "keynote speaker" of the event or not but in my book you were. It was nice for me, someone running for office (HR-23), to be among a non-partisan group of involved citizenry for a change who spent…

My Bio

You find a bio for me here at New Mexico Watchdog, an investigative reporting news site I edit. I've also got a blog called Adventure New Mexico about getting out in the great outdoors of our wonderful state. It's a little out of date, but I hope to shine and polish it soon.

Jim,

Sent you this by email as well...

I'm surprised you haven't commented in the Journal on the controversy, recently brought to a head by Judge Herrera's ruling, surrounding the Center for Civic Policy and the fliers they mailed out prior to last election season criticizing incumbent legislators around the state. The attempts of the AG and leaders in the Democratic Party to use over-reaching campaign reporting laws to silence CCP--indeed, the non-profit community as a whole--should pique your Libertarian sensibilities, I would think. A column by you summing up Herrera's resounding opinion in CCP's favor would add a nice counterpoint to the Journal's unbalanced reporting on the issue.

What do you think?

Mr. Scarantino, I liked your comment last night about punching the driver's license of reinstated DUI offenders. I have been advocating a BIG RED X across the face of the returned licenses for several years to no avail. Being a reformed over indulger, for many to many years, having come from a culture of drink I believe the drinking is the problem. DUI is one of the symptoms but the real problem is the booze, and until the person stops there is no cure. I have not had a drink for almost twenty years, and the new and good has not worn off yet. Nobody but a drunk understands a drunks mind, and then only distantly and vaguely.

Hi Jim, I received your invitation and if you don't remember me, this is Therese Cooper, we talked briefly at the April 15 Tea Party, I am the one who is a decendant of Patrick Henry. The planning of the July 4th Tea party is under way. We spoke to a business owner who has agreed to let us use his parking lot for a meeting place on that day. Much to do....joined in on linkedin, talk to you soon.

Yes, don't you know? He's swooping in to fight the bad guys!!! No, he's my bro-in-law, and will be on vacation, and I thought it would be fun for him to meet you or speak formally or informally. What's your schedule like that week? And we're always trying to talk him into New Mexico -- but he's a New Jersey guy!!

Monday (Tomorrow) night at 7 PM works for me, if that's doable. This Tuesday is a no-go for me.

Side note -- FYI: I tried to respond via email and it bounced.
