What non-Ron Paul Voters are really saying

The debacle that is the GOP primary continues to unfold and the "lead dog" now seems to be Rick Santorum. I'd be celbrating the fact that non-conservative Romney is no longer the leader, but…Continue

Newt Gingrich, really?

The only thing that possibly makes sense about Newt Gingrich winning in South Carolina is that Republican primary voters are looking for some other candidate that is not in the race. Newt Gingrich is…Continue

Atlas Shrugged and Avatar

This video is the best treatment and context I've seen for Atlas Shrugged and Avatar. I have to say that I liked Avatar better in quality terms, but both movies have their points:Continue

What non-Ron Paul Voters are really saying

The debacle that is the GOP primary continues to unfold and the "lead dog" now seems to be Rick Santorum. I'd be celbrating the fact that non-conservative Romney is no longer the leader, but Santorum is no conservative either. The fact is that there IS one person in the GOP race who will reduce the size of government and embrace the US Constitution. The problem is…See More

Newt Gingrich, really?

The only thing that possibly makes sense about Newt Gingrich winning in South Carolina is that Republican primary voters are looking for some other candidate that is not in the race. Newt Gingrich is terrible and has a flip-flopping record to rival anything Romney has done. The best campaign ads stick to the facts and Dr. Ron Paul's ad on New Gingrich illustrates why he is clearly unfit to be president: See More

Of Rand and Rubio

The term "Tea Party" is a strong indicator of a certain amount of fiscal restraint in a politician or individual. Unfortunately, it is not specific enough to understand whether the individual or politician is true to the ideas of a strictly-limited government. Some like Rand Paul actually believe in the Constitution. Some like Marco Rubio don't really have a clue. Read the…See More

Bob Ewing replied to Ron Paul's Ghost's discussion 'Run (for Senate) Gary, Run!'
Interesting post, annoying last sentence.    There are more than two choices here.  The reason many people are excited for Johnson is run is not because we think he can win, but because he'll be a principled libertarian…

Run (for Senate) Gary, Run!

For the good of the country, Gary Johnson needs to abandon his presidential aspirations and throw his hat in the ring for Sen. Jeff Bingaman's soon-to-be-open New Mexico Senate seat. Heather Wilson is simply not an acceptible candidate for genuine fiscal conservatives and tea partiers. Let's face it, as much as I like Gary Johnson, he has no chance in hell at the Presidency. Ron Paul has at least built a name for himself, and if he runs in 2012, could tell people "I told you so" about the…See More

Pearce and Heinrich Sitting in a Tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G

Well, looky here. The House of so-called Representatives has renewed the horribly mis-named PATRIOT Act which authorizes all manner of blatantly Unconstitutional spying on US citizens. And, interestingly enough, Martin Heinrich and Steve Pearce have both voted for it! The only one of New Mexico's congresscritters to oppose it was that noted Constitutional scholar Ben Ray Lujan. Just goes to show you:1) Pearce…See More

What WikiLeaks Revealed in 2010

Screw Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook, the real man of the year is Julian Assange (or perhaps Bradley Manning). Check out this great piece from Glenn Greenwald detailing all the stuff that Assange and Wikileaks revealed this year.   Anyone that can use the truth and non-violence to…See More

State Lands: Protection or Provision?

The Land Commissioner's race is often-overlooked in New Mexico, but it is an important race. The candidates in this year's race have some very stark differences. As Marita Noon writes, candidate Ray Powell has a checkered past with positions taken on both sides of the issue.  See More
